Martial Arts Instructor, Competitor and Acu-point Seminar Conductor Ron Richards holds a GRANDMASTERS Eighth (8th) Degree Black Belt Rank in RYUKYU KEMPO KARATE.  This was signed by Jack Hogan (9th Degree Black Belt). The other diplomas were signed by a board of Masters including Professor Wally Jay, 10th Dan, Small Circle Jujitsu, Professor Remy Presas, 10th Dan, Modern Arnis, Leo Fong, 10th Dan, Kung Fu and George A. Dillman, 9th Dan, Ryukyu Kempo Karate Do. He also holds a MASTERS Rank in TAE KWON DO.  He is also certified by George Dillman to teach pressure point seminars including police (humane pressure points) and self-defense using the Dillman Pressure Point Theory.  He was a SENIOR student of George A. Dillman of DILLMAN PRESSURE POINT THEORY fame for 22 years.

Richards has been studying the Martial Arts for over 40 years.  He started training under MASTER HIDY OCHIAI in 1965.  He later joined the DILLMAN KARATE INSTITUTE in 1972 and was a private student of George Dillman since 1976. 

From 1979 till 1986, he owned and operated the POTTSTOWN, PA branch of DILLMAN KARATE INSTITUTE.  Richards taught private and group lessons and supervised 5 black belt instructors.  He also conducted self-defense courses, lectured on the MARTIAL ARTS and conducted demonstrations as well as a self-defense course for park rangers.  He was the 1982, 83, & 84 PENNSYLVANIA STATE FIGHTING CHAMPION in the Over 35 division.  

In 1983, he along with George and Kim Dillman went to the first summer camp that introduced pressure point techniques and one second fighting in the U.S.A.  It was conducted by Seiyu Oyata.  This was the first open seminar to introduce pressure point applications into the United States.

From 1988 thru 1998, he taught George Dillman’s adult group class and private lessons.  From 1997 to 1998, he taught a group class and private lessons at the former Muhammad Ali Training Camp now the Martial Arts Training Camp in Deer Lake, PA.

Richards, was also listed in the 1982-83, 1984-85 "WHO'S WHO IN KARATE" and served on the Board Of Review for  "WHO’S WHO IN AMERICAN MARTIAL ARTS".

In 1986, Richards started a karate class at Air Products Corp. in Allentown, PA. It started as a self-defense course and ended up a karate class.  He also taught self-defense courses for men and women at Air Products Corp.  Richards lectured to their Safety Awareness Groups on karate and how the pressure points fit into self-defense to make it more practical and easier to learn.

In October of 1989, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was inducted into the National Federation of Martial Artists HALL of FAME as an OUTSTANDING COMPETITOR.

In January of 1992, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was inducted into the 1991 Eastern U.S.A. Martial Arts Assn. HALL of FAME for OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT,

He was also listed in the 1992 KARATE INTERNATIONAL MAGAZINE'S “WHO'S WHO IN THE MARTIAL ART ELITE BLACK BELTS”.

Richards, also appeared with George Dillman on major network TV shows such as: "REAL PEOPLE",  "PM MAGAZINE",  "EVENING MAGAZINE",  "NITE BEAT", "MARTIAL ARTS MAGAZINE" and the GEORGE MICHAELS SPORTS MACHINE" (where he performed his cement sitting on 4 water glasses break with a water glass).  He has been interviewed by various local TV programs about tournament competition for the 35 and over age category. He also demonstrated Ryukyu Kempo Karate and Tuite (grappling and kyusho jitsu) techniques.

He is also featured on George Dillman’s Pressure Point Theory videotapes as well as on George Dillman’s DEMONSTRATION, MASTER'S SHOW and KNOCKOUT video‘s.

He has assisted George Dillman with his Pressure Point Theory research and seminars from the onset.  Today, he conducts his own seminars and workshops on Dillman’s Pressure Point Theory, kata breakdown (bunkai), nerve attacking and energetics.

In January of 1993, he played the part of a soldier in the movie "SFX: THE MAGIC & THE MAYHEM” filmed in Toronto, Canada. This film was distributed throughout Canada.

In the fall of 1993, he produced a PRESSURE POINT THEORY WORKBOOK to be used in conjuction with the Dillman Pressure Point Theory.

In 1995, Richards appeared with George Dillman on the cover of George Dillman’s BOOK 3,  "TUITE, ADVANCED PRESSURE POINT GRAPPLING, THE DILLMAN METHOD of SELF-DEFENSE".   He is also featured on two chapter headers in the same book.

He also appears in George Dillman’s BOOK 1, "KYUSHO- JITSU: THE DILLMAN METHOD OF PRESSURE POINT FIGHTING" and BOOK 2,  "ADVANCED PRESSURE POINT FIGHTING OF RYUKYU KEMPO".   These are the hottest selling martial arts books in the USA.

In October of 1995, in Cleveland, OHIO, he was inducted into the Action Portrait Studios Martial Arts GALLERY of FAME for his Achievements, Dedication and Contributions to the Martial Arts.

In November of 1997, he was featured doing a cement break with a water glass while the cement rests on four water glasses without breaking the glasses. He also does a Kyusho Jitsu Technique in the video  “GOING THE DISTANCE” which will also feature Jackie Chan, Jean-Claude Van Damme and George Dillman.

He has trained with seven 10th degree Black Belts.  They are Professor Wally Jay (10th degree black belt, small circle jujitsu), Professor Remy Presas, (10th degree black belt, Modern Arnis), Leo Fong (10th degree black belt, Kung Fu), Tom Tam, Qiqong Master, Harry Smith, (10th degree black belt, Isshinryu Karate), Professor Sig Kufferaph (10th degree black belt, Danzen Ryu) and Seiyu Oyata, (10th degree black belt, Ryukyu Kempo Karate).

In August of 1999, he designed and put up a web site (Ron Richards’ Ryukyu (Okinawan) Kempo) showing techniques of Tuite, both Kyusho and Taiho Jitsu.  The site also tells of seminar happenings, pressure point articles for sale, a photo gallery and martial arts links.

In November of 1999, he started the “Ron Richards’ Ryukyu (Okinawan) Kempo Organization” to further the study of the original meanings of the Five-Element and Principles of kata and fighting interpretations as practiced by the Okinawan Masters before the 1920’s. This study is in the original Okinawan Ryukyu Art of Karate Jitsu, not sport and not karate-do.  He also has two video tapes on the market.  One is “An Introduction to Acu-Point Self-Defense” and  “Black Belt Kata Requirements for Ron Richards’ Ryukyu (Okinawan) Kempo.”

 In October of 2003, he became affiliated with Jack Hogan Karate International in Jacksonville, FL and is the northeast representative for Jack Hogan Karate International.
